About our winery, tasting room & event venue painting

Our team provides calendar-based phasing, delivering quiet, low-odour painting in guest spaces and hard-wearing exterior painting for both residential and commercial projects. Before a brush touches a guest room, we submit product data with the VOC content of every coating and brush out a mockup panel on the facade for your sign-off, so the colour and texture you approve are the ones that go on the building.

From a chlorine-free wash on cellar timber to the last iron railing beside the ceremony lawn, our team handles every detail. Serving Temecula, French Valley, Rainbow and Fallbrook, we keep crews off your booked dates and out of the photographs.

Painting around tastings, weddings and events

A winery repaint in the Temecula Valley is scheduled against the property's own calendar, so guest-facing walls are painted on closed days and in the early morning, and nothing is wet, masked or staged on a booked weekend. The valley is a weekend destination: the Temecula Valley AVA record notes that many wineries here double as wedding venues, host live music through the summer and run lodging, tours and sunset dinners, which means the building is in use far more hours than an ordinary commercial property. That is why the first document we ask for is not a floor plan. It is your event and tasting calendar for the months the work could fall in. We build the phasing from it, then write it down by area and by date so the venue coordinator and the painting foreman are reading the same page.

Guest areas first, out of sight

Tasting bars, lounges, restrooms and the patio walls guests photograph are painted in short, contained windows. Drop cloths, ladders and empty pails leave the guest side before the doors open, and every area is handed back clean at the end of each shift.

Event lawns and ceremony sites

Pergolas, arbors, ceremony walls and railings near an event lawn are scheduled for the gaps between bookings. If a booking moves, the area moves with it, because a coat of paint can wait and a wedding cannot.

Lodging and back of house

Guest rooms, offices, crush pad walls and service corridors can often run on weekdays, which keeps crews busy on the days the public spaces are open.

Low-odour coatings near wine and guests

Tasting rooms and barrel rooms get low-odour, low-VOC coatings because paint smell competes directly with wine aroma for the guests tasting it and the staff pouring it. Volatile organic compounds are what produce the smell of a fresh coating, and indoor concentrations of them run higher than outdoor ones, especially in a new or newly redecorated room.

Three choices keep the room ready for guests:

  • Product selection: waterborne coatings whose data sheets show low VOC content. Coatings sold for use in the South Coast AQMD, whose district covers the non-desert portion of Riverside County, already have to meet the VOC limits of Rule 1113, and we pick from the lower end of what the rule allows.
  • Tint selection: deep colours carry more colorant, and colorant itself adds VOCs, so a dark accent wall in a tasting room is reviewed against its tint load before it is approved.
  • Ventilation and timing: VOC emissions climb in warm weather, so interior coats are planned for the cooler part of the day with the room ventilated, and the space is aired out before the next service.

Every coating on the job is listed on the submittal with its data sheet, so your winemaker can see what is going near the cellar before it arrives.

Matching Tuscan and Mediterranean venue finishes

Many venue exteriors in the wine country east of town borrow the Mediterranean Revival vocabulary: stuccoed walls, red tile roofs, arched openings and wrought iron balconies and window grilles. Those buildings are rarely flat paint over smooth plaster. The stucco finish coat may have been troweled smooth, hand-textured, floated to a sand finish or sprayed, and on older buildings the colour may be mixed into the finish coat itself rather than painted on. So a venue repaint starts with matching, not with a colour fan. We sample the existing texture and colour in an inconspicuous spot, decide whether the wall should be coated, color-washed or patched first, and show you a mockup panel in daylight before any elevation is started.

Plaster and stucco patches

Cracks and old patches are repaired to match the surrounding texture so the patch does not telegraph through the new coat when low evening sun rakes across the wall.

Iron, gates and railings

Balcony rails, gates and window grilles are cleaned of rust, primed with a primer suited to steel and finished in a sheen that matches the rest of the iron on the property, so one repaired gate does not stand out from the others.

Wood beams, doors and shutters

Exposed rafter tails, heavy doors and shutters are stained or painted to the existing look rather than to whatever is newest on the shelf.

Production rooms, cellars and harvest season

Cellar and production work is scheduled outside harvest and crush, because those weeks put the crush pad, tank room and cellar off limits to every outside trade. In the Northern Hemisphere most grapes are picked between late August and early October, and the winemaker, not the painter, sets the actual dates each year.

Prep in a cellar is handled differently from prep on a guest wall:

  • No chlorine on wood. Chlorine in contact with untreated wood can form chlorinated phenols, the precursors of the compound behind cork taint, and the cork taint literature records whole cellars tainted through barrels, drain lines and wooden beams. Cellar timber is cleaned with non-chlorine products agreed with your winemaker.
  • Barrels and tanks stay covered or are moved by your staff before any work starts, and nothing is sprayed near open fermentation.
  • Washdown areas get coatings chosen for repeated wet cleaning, with the product data reviewed before the order is placed.

A cellar or production room is often the one place on the property with no guests at all, which makes it ideal work for the quiet months after harvest.

How a winery or venue bid is structured

Winery and venue repaints are typically estimated at roughly $20,000 to $250,000 per contract, a budgetary range from industry ticket data rather than a quote, with the size of the property and the number of phases moving the number most. The bid itself is built line by line from a site walk:

  • Takeoff by building and elevation: tasting room, event hall, lodging, production and outbuildings, each with its own square footage.
  • Surface types: textured stucco, smooth plaster, wood beams and doors, wrought iron, and any masonry or block walls on the grounds.
  • Product and system specified per surface, with submittals and a mockup panel.
  • Access: lifts, ladders and scaffolding on tall elevations, and protection for vines and landscaping beside the walls.
  • Phasing and mobilizations: how many separate visits your event calendar requires, because each return trip is a cost.
  • Off-hours or early-morning work in guest areas.
  • A punch list walked with your manager at the end of every phase.

Send the site plan, your event calendar and photos of the elevations and we will come out to walk it and return a written bid. These figures are estimates, they are subject to change with the scope and the calendar, and the written bid confirms the final price after the site walk.

Who this is for in the Temecula Valley wine country

This page is for the people who run a property built to host guests on vineyard land: winery owners, tasting room and hospitality managers, event and wedding venue operators, and the owners of the inns and resorts that sit among the vines. The Temecula Valley AVA, recognized as an appellation in 1984 and renamed in 2004, takes in roughly 33,000 acres on the eastern slopes of the Santa Ana Mountains, and its growers association lists dozens of member wineries pouring for the public.

We sell scope and schedule, not adjectives. A tasting room refresh, a venue exterior or a full property repaint in phases is the same conversation: what gets painted, in what order, on which dates, with which products. If that is the conversation you need, call or send the bid request form.

Colors and Finishes

The process

How a Painting Job Runs

Four steps, and no paint goes on until you have signed off on the scope and the colors.

  1. The walk

We go around the house or property with you, check the stucco, the trim and the existing coating, and note what inland sun, dust and dry Santa Ana winds have done to each elevation.

  2. The written scope

The prep, products, colors and dates arrive in writing. For a community or a commercial building the scope is split into phases, so every resident or tenant knows their day.

  3. Prep, then paint

Washing, scraping, patching and caulking come before any color, since that is what the new coating grips. Primer follows where the surface needs it, then the finish coats.

  4. The final walk

We walk the job again together before calling it finished, and touch up anything you flag.

Questions

Winery, Tasting Room & Event Venue Painting: Common Questions

Can you paint the tasting room without closing it?

Usually, yes. Guest areas are painted on closed days, before opening or in small sections walled off with plastic, and the room is cleaned and aired out before guests return. If a space truly has to close, the bid says which day and for how long it is planned, so you can move tastings rather than be surprised.

What happens if a wedding gets booked during the job?

The schedule moves, not the wedding. Phasing is written by area, so the area near a new booking is pushed to the next open window and crews shift to back of house or lodging. Tell us as soon as the booking lands and we reissue the written schedule.

Which coatings go in a barrel room or cellar?

Low-odour, low-VOC waterborne coatings chosen for damp, cool rooms and for repeated cleaning, each submitted with its data sheet for your winemaker to review. Prep avoids chlorine on wood, and barrels and tanks are covered or moved by your staff first.

Can you match a hand-troweled Tuscan stucco finish?

That is what the mockup panel is for. We sample the existing texture and colour, repair cracks to match, and brush out a test area in daylight for your approval before any elevation starts. Where colour is integral to the plaster, we tell you whether a coating, a color wash or a patch is the right answer.

Do you bid from plans or only from a site walk?

Both. Plans and elevations give the takeoff, but the site walk shows texture, access, landscaping and the condition of iron and wood, which are what move a venue bid most. Send what you have and we schedule the walk around your calendar.

Who is the contact on site while the work is under way?

One foreman runs the job day to day and is the person your venue coordinator calls. That foreman keeps the written schedule current and walks each finished area with your manager before the crew moves on.

What do we receive at closeout?

A signed-off punch list for each phase, the colour and product schedule for every surface so future touch-ups match, leftover labelled paint where you want it, and the written warranty. Proof of licence and insurance is supplied with the bid on request.
